Questions about devices
Here you can find questions about Device area features.
What browsers are supported on devices?
Default browsers are installed on the devices depending on the vendor. In case you need a particular browser, you can install it via the Install App tab for Android and iOS or App Store for iOS.
What is the maximum app file size?
Mobitru supports application files up to 4 GB.
The device is working very slowly or has no stable connection.
In case a device performance is slow, open Pane to the right of the device area screen -> Quality settings. Here either change the mode to Screen Capture if it is available for the device or choose a lower-quality video streaming.
Does Mobitru support the automatic cleanup of my test session data on the device?
Below actions will be performed on the device when the testing session ends:
– Remove apps installed within the session.
– Clear browser history and bookmarks:
– (Only on iOS) Erase all settings and restore the default iOS image from the backup.
– Reboot the mobile device.
Does Mobitru modify my application?
On iOS devices, Mobitru re-signs your applications with the Mobitru profile, if you selected the Re-sign checkbox during the app installation.
Mobitru does not modify Android applications.
What is a Re-sign feature? Why do I need it? And how does it work?
Re-sign is for iOS only. It is to embed the Mobitru provisioning profile into the installed app.
iOS entitlements are removed when an application is re-signed. So that, PUSH notification/iCloud/Apple card don’t work properly.
To avoid this situation, add Mobitru devices to your developer profile, rebuild the app and install it on the Mobitru device.
Can I change/simulate a device’s location with Mobitru?
Yes, you can change the device location on both Android and iOS devices in the Pane -> Locations tab.
What if I need to manage AssistiveTouch for iOS to activate gestures/zoom/pinch/etc.?
AssistiveTouch is activated on all devices by default. You can manage AssistiveTouch as if on any iOS device in your hands: go to Settings -> Find AssistiveTouch -> Turn it on/off.
Can I run localization testing?
Yes, you can change the language in the device setting.
NB: when changing the language on iOS, the device will restart. We recommend booking the device before changing the language to avoid a hard reset on the device.
When I am testing on a device, are any other apps using the device at the same time?
While no one else will be testing on the device at the same time, there are always apps using the device such as pre-installed apps, system apps, services, etc. These apps should not interfere with your testing sessions.
